Introduction -
Many brave people sacrificed their lives to free India from the slavery of the British, one of them was Chandrashekhar Azad. He was a prominent revolutionary of the Indian freedom struggle.
He came into the freedom struggle at a very young age. He was very strong and brave. He wanted to free his country India from the slavery of the British and for this he fought a lot. He dedicated his whole life for the country

Birth and Family -
Chandrashekhar was born on 23rd July 1906 in Bhabra village of Jhabua district of Madhya Pradesh. He belonged to a Brahmin family. His real name was Chandrashekhar Tiwari.
His father's name was Sitaram Tiwari and mother's name was Jagrani Devi. Chandrashekhar Azad used to shoot a lot of bow and arrow in his childhood, in this way he also learned shooting very well. He was very courageous and fearless person. He was filled with the spirit of patriotism.
Education -
Chandrashekhar Azad did his early education from the village after then he went to Banaras for further studies. He received his education from Kashi Vidyapeeth in Banaras. He was great in Sanskrit. He was very intelligent and hardworker.
Revolutionary Life -
Chandrashekhar Azad wanted to do something for his country, India. So, he participated in country's freedom struggle movement He became a part of Gandhiji's non - cooperation movement at the early age of 15. Then, Chandrashekhar was arrested and he also went to jail.
There he was asked his name, father's name and home address. Then, Chandrashekhar did not tell his name as Chandrashekhar Tiwari and told him as Azad, father's name as freedom and his home address as jail. The British beat him a lot. Even then he kept chanting the slogan of Vande Mataram.
Chandrashekhar Azad became a member of the Hindustan Socialist Republican Association at a very young age. He worked with great revolutionaries like Ram Prasad Bismil, Rajguru, Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev etc.
The main objective of this association was to free India from the slavery of the British and make it an independent nation. He had the zeal and enthusiasm to liberate the country. Chandrashekhar Azad was a very good shooter and he was very fond of exercise, wrestling and swimming.
All the revolutionaries fought a lot to liberate the country and also went to jail. Chandra- shekhar Azad's name was involved in many works like Gandhiji's non - cooperation movement, kakori train, robbery, bomb blast in assembly, killing Saunders in Lahore and avenging the murder of Lala Lajpat Rai. Chandrashekhar Azad had promised that he would never be killed by the British in his life.
On 27th February 1931, the British army surrounded him at Alfred Park in Allahabad. He was facing the British strongly but in the end when he had one bullet left, he did not want to be caught by the British.
So, he shot himself and got martyred. Even today, Alfred Park is known as Chandrashekhar Azad Park. There is also a statue of him in that park. Chandrashekhar Azad remained free according to his name and died free.
He made many efforts to liberate India which is still remembered by the Indians. The name of India's sch Chandrashekhar Azad will always be inscribed with golden len letters ER in the pages of history.
Conclusion -
Chandrashekhar Azad was a great revolutionary, patriot, fearless, honest, courageous and self-respecting person. He made many efforts to liberate the country of India. Bravely facing the British army, he was martyred by killing himself with the last bullet. His sacrifice will always be remembered by the people of India.
