Essay on The rat race of competitive exams
The Indian education system has produced some of the most illustrious personalities from politicians to sportspersons. However, there are some who have criticized the education system as outdated and harsh.
One such criticism is the harsh curriculum and examinations that students have to go through in the process of acquiring educational qualifications.
Examinations are conducted at both school and university level to weed out the unqualified students and to provide access to deserving minds. Passing exams is a tough challenge, but they are an essential step in the growth of any educational institution.
The examinees undergo rigorous training during the months of April to June. To prepare for competitive exams, students spend their time studying from previous year question papers and syllabus notes.
Some students also study using online courses or self-help books. Students go through this rigorous exercise for about 60 days before appearing for their exams.
This enables them to cover all the topics that they will be studying for their exams. They also go through practice sessions after finishing their training session so that they can be successful in their exams.
The exams differ from state to state, and they follow the same pattern year after year. Some topics remain constant while some keep changing every year due to increasing competition.
Teachers inform their students which topics are most essential before starting the preparation. Students then spend time learning those subjects so they can score high marks in the exam.
They also study other subjects less important to their results so that they do not waste time studying non-essential things. Students learn from the previous exam results and improve their marks accordingly. In this way, students outperform their competitors by learning from past mistakes.
Exams prove to be a tough challenge for students – but they are essential to shape the future prospects of India's education system.
Students who pass the exam get access to better educational facilities, while those who fail lose their precious time pursuing their dream course of study. Hence, it is important that all deserving students study hard and prepare themselves for these exams!
