Pusarla Venkata Sindhu is a professional badminton player and represents India at internal level competitions. She was born on 5th July 1995 to a Telugu Family in Hydrabad in Andrapradesh. 

She completed her college at St. Ann's College for women in Hyderabad. Her parents P.V Ramana and P. Vijaya are volleyball players. 

Her father P.V Raman also received the Arjuna Award for his performance in his sport coming from sporting background, 

At the age of Six, P.V Sindhu was inspired to take up sports as her career but she chose badminton as her main game as she was inspired by Pulllela Gopichand who had just won 2001 All England Open Badminton Championship. 

Over the course of her career, Sindhu has won medals at multiple tournaments including Olympics in 2016, Silver Medal, in 2020, Bronze Medal and World Championships in the 2019 Gold Medal. 

She is the First Indian to become the badminton World champion and only the second individual athlete from Inda to win two consecutive medals at the Olympics Games. 

She was honoured with Padma Bhushan, Padma Sri, Major Dhanchand Kel Ratna Award, Arjuna Award. She had the highest-paid athlete in the world in 2018-2019.

Coming from a sport background, at the age of six, P.V. Sindhu was inspired to take up sports as her career but she chose Badminton as her main game as she was inspired by Pullela Gopichand who had just won the 2001 All England Open Badminton Championship.

He later became the coach of P.V.Sindhu and invested most of the time on Sindhu. She first went to the coach Mehbub Ali but after learning the basics and to train solely in badminton she joined the coaching classes run by Pullela Gopichand and his wife.

According to the reports, she was willing to give complete concentration to become a good badminton player and thus she used to travel 56 kilometers daily from her residence to the coaching camp. Her determination and willingness was a reflection of a great future standing in front of her.

Her first international recognition came when she was ranked in the top 20 in the BWF World Ranking in September 2012.

She was just 17 at that time. She received great accolades when she became the first Indian women in Singles to win a medal at the Badminton world championship in the year 2013.

With her growing success in her field of sport, she was awarded the Padma Shri award, making her the youngest recipient of India's fourth highest civilian honor in 2015.
