Introduction-
Youth is critical in the development of any country. So every year, National Youth Day is celebrated on 12 January to guide the youth in India. This date was chosen to honour the birthday of Swami Vivekananda, one of India's greatest spiritual and social leaders. The Government of India declared the date of January 12 as National Youth Day in 1984 and 12 January 1985 is celebrated as National Youth Day in India every year since 1985.
Why is National Youth Day celebrated-
The decision to celebrate National Youth Day by the Indian government was taken to inspire all the youth of the country towards Swami Vivekananda's philosophy and his ideal. It was decided to celebrate the birthday of Swami Vivekananda as National Youth Day to fulfil the goal of improving the future of the country by encouraging the youth through Swami Vivekananda ji's thoughts and lifestyle.
The main objective of National Youth Day-
The main objective of celebrating National Youth Day is to encourage the Indian youth across the country with the ideals and ideas of Swami Vivekananda, the greatest social reformer, thinker and philosopher of India.
