1. Sindhutai Sapkal was a great Indian Social Worker.

2. She was better known as " Mother of Orphans", or " Anathanchuu Maye" or " Maai"

3. She was born on 14th November 1948 in Pimpri Meghe Village in Wardha District, Maharastra.

4. She was known for her work in raising hundreds of orphans. abandoned and homeless children.

5. She was married at the age of 10 and her life was very challenging.

6. She adopted more than 1000 Orphans children's and gave them a better quality of life.

7. She was awarded the Padma Shri 2021 and the Ahilyabai Holkar Award in 2010.

8. She had received more than 700 awards for her social work.

9. This great daughter of India passed away on 4th January 2022.

10. Her life is a source of inspiration for millions and she will be remembered for her noble service to society.

1. Sindhutai Sapkal was born on 14th November 1948 at Pimpri Meghe Village.

2. At the tender age of 10, she got married to Shihari Sapkal.

3. Her husband thrashed he and kicked her on her belly when she was in her final trimester and threw her in a cowshed.

4. She went to her maternal village but was shunned and her mother too closed the doors on her.

5. She went to die and made three unsuccessful attempts to end her life before she decided to live for others.

6. At the age of 70, she even accepted her husband who had come back to her to apologise, but as her child.

7. She has been honoured with more than 750 Awards.

8. She used the award money to buy land to make a home for her orphaned children.

9. The orphanage- Sanmati Bala Niketan Sanstha- has its own building at Manjari in Pune with all facilities.

10. Sindhutai Sapkal dies due to a heart attack at the hospital on4 January 2022.
