JOURNEYS OF GURU TEGH BAHADUR TEACHINGS OF GURU TEGH BAHADUR
INTRODUCTION –
Guru Tegh Bahadur was born in Punjab in 1621 to the Hargobind Sahib, the sixth guru: He was first namedTyag mal but later came to be known as Tegh Bahadur after participating in the war against the Mughals and showing bravery.
He was trained in several skills such a's archery and horsemanship. He also learned about classic Hindu literature including the Vedas, the Upanishad, and the Puranas. He was a great spirit of the world.
JOURNEY OF GURU TEGH BAHADUR-
Guru Tegh Bahadur travelled in different parts of the country, Dhaka and Assam to preach the teaching of Nanak, the first Sikh guru. The places he visited and stayed in became sites of Sikh temples. During his travels, Guru Tegh Bahadur spread the Sikh ideas and message, as well as started community water well & langar.
The Gwell made three successive visits to Kirat Pur. On 21 August 1664, Guruwent a there to console Bibi Roop upon the death of her father, brother. The second visit was on 15 October 1664

The Sikh Guru wrote several hymns to Granth Sahib. His other work includes 116 sahaba's, 15 ragas and 782 compositions which were also added to the holy Sikh book- Granth Sahib. He wrote about a wide range of topics such as God, human relationships the human condition, the body and mind, emotions, service, death and dignity.

Guru Tegh Bahadur travelled extensively in different parts of the country including Dhaka and Assam for spreading the teachings of the first Sikh Guru Nanak. During his travels, Guru Tegan Bahadur spread Sikh thoughts and messages as well as community water wells and langars. After blessing various villages and towns, Guruji left for Kurukshetra.
A solar eclipse was about to occur, and a fair was held. When Guruji reached there, some Brahmins suggested to Guruji that he should take a bath in the holy lake so that he would remain pure. Guruji smiled and said "Washing the body does not lead to purification because the corrupted mind cannot be washed with water, it is only the name of Almighty God who washes away all sins and purifies the mind"
He removed the scarcity of drinking water of the people by installing several wells in Malwa and Bangar areas. He went from Mulo to villages like Farwani, Handhiya, Neeva, Bhikhi etc.
After visiting Malwa he visited Karnal, Rohtak, Hisar and many other places in present Haryana. After his release, Shri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji crossed the Yamuna River from Delhi and entered Uttar Pradesh.
Here he went to Mathura and there to Agra, met Guruji Sangat and further he went to Kanpur, after staying here for some time he reached Allahabad via Fatehpur.
He stayed in this city for a long time and from here he reached Mirzapur. After that, he went to Banaras. Here the Sikh Sangat served Sri Guruji, after Banaras he reached Saram. Here a Sikh named Bhai Phago served him.
After Sasram he went to Bihar, where he held discussions with scholars at Gaya. From here he reached Patna Sahib with his family in 1666AD. He let his family stay at Patna Sahib and visited Munger, Bhagalpur, Raj Mahal, Khaligaon, Canttnagar and other places. From Bihar, Shri Guruji left for Assam and Bengal. He reached Malda, the stronghold of the Sufis in Bengal, where he held discussions with the Sufis.
The famous city of Dhaka was situated on the banks of Murshidabad. Guruji lived in this area for a long time and propagated Sikhism in Chittagong, Sandeep Lashkar and other places. On his return from Dhaka, he halted at Calcutta, reaching a small village called Calicut near Calcutta, where he was rescued by Sikh Bachal Khatri.
In 1667, Aurangzeb sent Raja Ram Singh to suppress the Assamese revolt, Shri Tegh Bahadur Ji accompanied Raja Ram Singh to Madhapur and crossed the Brahmaputra river to reach Dhubri.
Sri Guru Ji then returned to Patna Sahib and from there on his return to Punjab, he reached Sasram, Junpur, Kashi, Ayodhya, Lucknow, Moradabad, Gadagango, Haridwar and other places via Ropar and Kiratpur Sahib.
Shri Guruji was accompanied by Bhai Mati Das and four other children. Soon after, Sri Guruji with his family settled in Sri Anandpur Sahib.
After living in Sri Anandpur Sahib for two and a half years, Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur again visited Malwa and Bengal in 1678 AD. During his travels, he promoted Sikkim and at the same time solved many problems of the people.

After Baba Bakala he moved towards Tarn-Taran, Khadur Sahib and Goindwal sahib, then proceeded to Amritsar for the darshan of Harmandir sahib.
Though the granthi did not allow Guru to enter the doors of Harmandir sahib. Since Guru did not want any confrontation, he thought it better to return.
Keeping in view the request of his devotees, he stayed at Village Walla. Foundation of Anandpur by Guru Tegh Bahadur He reached Baba Bakala but could not stay for long owing to the opposition of the Sodhi people, hence he moved to Kiratpur sahib.
Here again, Dhir mal and his companions started teasing guru. So he left Kiratpur and purchased some land from the King of Kahlua. Thus here he laid the foundation of the town of Anandpur Sahib. Here again, he was mocked by his opponents, hence he started for tours to people on the path of truth.
Malwa and Bangar Tour
Starting from Anandpur sahib, he reached villages like Mulowal, Sahiwal, Dhilwan, Joga, Bhupali, Dharmpur and Talwandi.
Socially and economically this area was backwards and almost neglected, but the people were hard-working and poor. They were also deprived of basic amenities like fresh drinking water, milk and even simple food.
Guru Sahib toured this area for about one and a half years. Here he constructed wells and tanks. Along with that, he took an active part in works of public welfare.
The main and important halts of Guru Sahib were Patiala (Dukhniwaran Sahib), Samaon, Bhiki, Tahla Sahib, and Talwandi in Bhatinda, Gobindpura, Makrora and Bangar.
Guru Sahib toured these areas for about one and a half years Then he reached Dhamdhane in Bangar. Here he appointed Sikh Ram Dev as the main preacher of that area. From here he reached Kaithal and then Kurukshetra.
