Essay on global warming
Global warming is the rise of the temperature of the earth's surface and air, it is caused by the increase in greenhouse gases like carbon dioxide and methane gas in the atmosphere.
The burning of fuels in cars and factories results in the emission of harmful gases in the air. The other cause of global warming is deforestation. Urbanisation and industrialisation are the cause of global warming. The greenhouse gases prevent heat radiation from the earth.
As a resulting rise in the temperature, polar ice caps and icebergs meltdown. Scientists are very concerned about the rise of water level day by day. There is a grim possibility that sea and riverside cities in the world may be destroyed. Due to global warming, the rainfall will become very irregular and deserts will expand.
The existence of life on earth will be in danger. Natural disasters like Tsunami, earthquakes may also result from global warming. So to prevent our earth from global warming all countries should come forward to control the emission of greenhouse gases. Urbanisation and industrialisation must be restrained. We must plant more trees instead of felling them.
Essay on global warming
Global warming is the gradual rise in the temperature of the Earth's surface, ocean and atmosphere. The most noticeable effect of global warming is the melting of the ice caps and glaciers in the world.
As a result, even the sea level is rising steadily. It is believed that by the end of the 21st century, many cities will be partly flooded by the sea.
Global warming is caused when Carbon dioxide, greenhouse gases and other air pollutants get collected in the earth's atmosphere and absorb the solar radiation that has bounced off the earth's surface.
Because these pollutants exist in the atmosphere, they trap the heat and make the earth hotter. It is also known as the greenhouse effect.
Global warming is extremely harmful to life on earth. There are various reasons for global warming. We can distinguish them into natural and manmade.
The natural activities that result in global warming are volcanic eruptions and forest fires. Man-made reasons include the burning of fossil fuels, cattle rearing, deforestation, mining and many more.
Stopping Global warming is a big challenge for all of us. It is difficult to resolve it, but not impossible to do so. Combined efforts from the government and individuals are required to stop global warming.
Government can encourage the use of wind and solar energy instead of electricity. Applying tax on carbon can be a helpful measure. Reducing population is also necessary, so government should make laws to keep the population in control.
We as individuals can take small steps and contribute to limit global warming. Saving Electricity, planting more trees, recycling household waste, using fewer cars or bikes are some of the steps we can take so that combined efforts of all of us give a big result.
Global warming is harming our mother Earth. If this continues our future generation will have to suffer a lot. So we all must take up the responsibility and reduce global warming. Every single step towards stopping global warming is significant and valuable.
Essay on global warming
Introduction: Global warming is the gradual rise in the average temperature of the earth's atmosphere due to increased amounts of greenhouse gases. Greenhouse gases such as carbon dioxide, methane, water vapour and ozone trap the incoming solar radiation. This effect prevents the heat from escaping back into the atmosphere. This process is called a 'Greenhouse effect.' Global warming gives rise to a number of other environmental issues.
Causes: Global warming is caused by increased concentration of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere, mainly from human activities such as excessive use of automobiles and fossil fuels resulting in increased levels of carbon dioxide. In addition, other activities such as industrial production, mining, cattle rearing, ail farm fertilizers and deforestation also contribute to this phenomenon.
Effects: Global Warming is an aspect of climate change and results in an increased number of extreme weather conditions. It will result in melting of polar ice caps, loss of habitat near poles, rise in sea level, changing rainfall patterns, desertification, warmer waters, loss of plankton, melting of glaciers and spread of tropical diseases and hunger.
Solutions: In order to reduce global warming, it is important to implement global warming solutions. Some measures such as planting more trees and preventing deforestation, focusing more on alternative, clean and renewable energy sources, encouraging recycling practices and using public transport must be taken. Government should stop open burning such as burning dry leaves or burning garbage.
Conclusion: Global warming is the greatest challenge facing our planet. It is high time that we all should realize the gravity of the problem and make consistent and determined efforts to reduce this problem so as to give sustainable living conditions to future generations.
Essay on global warming
Introduction
We know that Global Warming has become a major concern in the world. We have also started facing its effects in recent times. The term `Global Warming' denotes a rise in the earth's average temperature.
A steady rise in the earth's average temperature is noted, since the beginning of the industrial revolution. Since 1960 every passing decade has been warmer than the previous one and the earth's temperature is still rising. Causes of Global Warming The prime cause of global warming is the greenhouse effect.
The greenhouse effect is caused due to the gases which absorb and reflect radiant energy. The gases responsible for the greenhouse effect are called the Green House gases.
The greenhouse gases when present in moderate quantities, help the earth retain the heat received from sunlight. Thus helping in maintaining moderate temperature necessary for the survival of life on earth.
BUT, human activities such as industrialization, deforestation and environmental pollution causes an increase in greenhouse gases. This increase in greenhouse gases results in more heat being trapped on piles of the earth surface. Thus increasing the average temperature and causing Global warming.
There have been many campaigns organized by United Nations and other countries to fight global warming. Several agreements have been signed by many countries to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
There are many ways by which we can prevent the occurrence of global warming.
Following are the steps which can greatly help in reducing greenhouse gases thus reducing global warming.
• Avoid/Stop Burning Fossil Fuels
• Reduction in the Transportation Pollution
• Using Electric Vehicles
• Restricting the emission of greenhouse gases from the Factories
• Increase Plantation and Promote Reforestation
• Proper Waste Management
• Avoid Wastage of Electricity
• Use of LED Bulbs
• Harness the Renewable Sources of Energy
• Reduce Paper Usage
• Reuse and Recycle
• Regular Tuning and Service of Vehicles
• Avoid Using Disposable Plastic and Use Earthen Cups
• Use of Public Transport and Carpool
Conclusion:
Global warming is a global issue. It's not about a single country or an individual. It's about our Earth, our Ecosystem and most important it's about the survival of the human race.
Let's unite and stand together to prevent this man-made curse and make our earth a better place for our future generations.
