Two major types of media?

There are two major sub-divisions of media: print and electronic media. Print Media means an expression, either artistic or journalistic, usually on paper, such as books, newspapers, magazines, pamphlets, brochures, etc. Electronic media consists of radio, television, internet, mobile cells, and telephone, etc.

Media is also a good source of knowledge and information. We can get all kinds of books, research works, and also different documentaries on different websites like Google, Yahoo, YouTube, etc.

The objectives of the media:

In ancient times, newspapers were designed to convey news of one area to many other different areas. Later recreation was included in those newspapers.

TV was specially designed for entertainment. Later it proved as the best way of conveying news. In this present era. many TV news channels are working well in this regard.

The entire world is now shrunk to a global village due to the modern technological sources used in media. Every part of the world is linked with each other with the help of these sources.

The whole world is getting one in many aspects like; politics, economics, education, culture, trade, and commerce. One culture is affecting another. The positive things are adopted by people across the world. International trade and incorporation between and among states and religions are taken place by media.

The world is advancing day by day. The man of the 21st century is more cunning and more mature than that of the 17th century in every aspect of life with the help of the media. The world is moving towards democracy and democratic culture. Democratic moments are going on across the world. They are possible because of the media.

Media is also used as a source of religious preaching. There are several religious channels, such as; "AJTAK NEWS", " BBC NEWS", etc.

But it has also some negative effects on the youth or country. To spend too much time in front of the TV is a waste of time. The youth also adopt some negative fashion trends from the TV. Electronic media is also one of the dangers, which has spoiled social and moral norms, and the attitude of the people.

The freedom of electronic media is also harmful to our religious principles._. But media is like a double-edged sword if not handled with care then may turn out to be injurious.

Well, media is like a coin with two sides. It has both some advantages and even some disadvantages. Media in many ways influence today's youth, as some ads, songs, and movies make them realize their responsibility and make them socially aware.

It also provides them with some methods to work for society. We can spread the message of optimism among the masses. We can get the information from each and every corner of the world. We can bloom the image of our country among nations.

Media as a powerful weapon:

The role of media in any society cannot be denied. In this modern world. the media has become a powerful weapon. It has the power of demolishing and forming governments.

It can change the fate of the people living in that particular society. It forms public opinion. It can also deform public opinion. The real function and role of media are to criticize the policies of any government.

It should have a critical watch over the decisions and actions of any government. It has the right to positive criticism. In this way, it can reform any government.

Media should avoid yellow journalism:

The media should avoid yellow journalism. The main source of income for these TV channels is an advertisement. These advertisements come from many business tycoons or from government officials.

They affect the freedom of expression and make the media speak their particular language. In this way, the media becomes the mouthpiece of powerful people. It conveys their thoughts and ideas. This condition forms a negative condition in any society. It is not good for the country.

The function of media must be to convey the news with full validity. It is observed commonly that many newspapers and news channels cover one piece of news from different angles. Sometimes to rank the channel they break the wrong news. This thing creates chaos among the audience.

Social media has kicked off the monopoly of television news channels and newspapers. Now people have new ways of measuring the validity of any news and of expressing their ideas and thoughts.

Social media has made everything opened. Now it has become very difficult for politicians to hide their corruption and other negative activities. Everything has become public.

Some people use social media negatively. They spread false news and covey wrong news through it. This action creates a negative impact on society.

The lead of social media in the present age

It is due to the media that the world has become a global village. Through media, we come to know of any happening around the world. In this modern age, its importance cannot be denied at any rate.

 Conclusion:

To sum up the topic. we can say that media can play a constructive as well as a destructive role in society. It is a powerful weapon that can form and deform governments. It can level public opinion against any issue or problem. It can solve the problems of the laymen very efficiently. It should work freely.
