Importance of Chemistry in our daily life essay

Have you ever wondered about the importance of chemistry in everyday life? You might ask yourself this question if you are studying chemistry. Finding an answer is one of the most frequent chemistry treasures.

Here is a look at why chemistry issues: Chemistry is the study of matter and its interactions with other energy and matter. Chemistry is important in everyday life because everything is made of chemicals.

You are made from chemicals. So is your dog. So is the desk. So is the sun. Drugs are chemicals. Food consists of chemicals. Lots of the changes you see in the world around you are brought on by chemical reactions.

Chemistry has a reputation for being a complex and dull science, but for the most part, that reputation is undeserved. Chemistry is fun! It can be used to make colors change, alter recipes, color flames, make things glow in the dark, or perhaps make things explode.

Fireworks and explosions are based on chemistry, so it is definitely not a boring science. Many people study chemistry not because it's a requirement for a course but because they are interested in using it to explore the world and to try science projects

As hobbies go, chemistry is cheap because house chemicals may be used to perform many interesting experiments. Additionally, anyone can understand the basics of how things work, and that's the study of chemistry.

In a nutshell, the significance of chemistry is that it explains the world around you. Chemistry Explained Cooking: Chemistry explains how food changes as you cook it, how it rots, the way to preserve food, how your body uses the food you eat, and how ingredients interact to make food.

Cleaning: Part of the importance of chemistry is it clarifies how cleaning works. You use chemistry to help decide what cleaner is best for dishes, laundry, yourself, and your dwelling. You use chemistry when you use bleaches and disinfectants, even ordinary soap and water.

How do they work? That's chemistry.

Medicine: you have to understand basic chemistry so you can understand how vitamins, supplements, and drugs can help or harm you. Part of the significance of chemistry lies in testing and developing new medical treatments and medicines.

Environmental Issues: Chemistry is at the heart of environmental issues.

  • What makes one compound a nutrient and another chemical a pollutant?

  • How do you clean up the environment?

  • What processes can produce the things you want without hurting the environment?

We, people, are chemists. We use chemicals every day and perform chemical reactions without thinking much about them. Chemistry is essential because everything you do is chemistry! Even your body is made from chemicals.

Chemical reactions occur when you breathe, eat, or just sit there reading. Whatever is made of chemicals, the significance of chemistry is that it is the study of everything.

Why should you study chemistry?

Knowing some chemistry can help you make day-to-day decisions that impact your life.

  • Can I combine these household chemicals?

  • What are safe mosquito repellents?

  • Will my bottled water perish?

  • Can I mix types of engine oils for my vehicle?

Everybody can and should understand basic chemistry, but it may be important for you to have a course in chemistry or even make a career in it. Students wanting to become physicians, nurses, physicists, nutritionists, geologists, pharmacists, and (naturally ) chemists, all study chemistry.

You might want to make a career in chemistry because chemistry-related jobs are plentiful and high-paying. The importance of chemistry won't be diminished over time, so it will remain a promising career path. So, let us study chemistry

Essay on the importance of chemistry in our daily life

chemistry is a very important branch of science chemistry is the story of science that deals with the constituent of matters like a tome molecules ions etc and their properties stocks or behavior and interaction among them since everything is made up of atoms and molecules

we can see chemistry all around us chemistry has grown into a very diverse field there is a significant overlap between chemistry and another branch of science for example biochemistry relation between (chemistry and biology physical) chemistry relation between (chemistry and physic)s medicinal chemistry relation between (medicine and chemistry) Chemical Engineering relation between (chemistry and engineering) etc.

Chemistry provides support is torture to other brands of science

Most people consider chemistry as boring and complicated but in my thesis true it is because of chemistry many of our daily activities are achieved, so critters into pieces of plastic cloth food colors, and many others are some of the products of chemistry.

Significance of chemistry.

Principles of chemistry are applicable to various sector, some of them are discussed below

Food

The food we eat is nothing but a mixture of various chemicals from his products to cooking chemistry plays a very important role considering Tomatoes are produced in farm fertilizers crop protection chemicals like insecticide pesticides etc. are used in farming to increase the production of tomatoes,

Then ripped tomatoes are proud to food processing industries where they are converted into a finished product like ketchup. after various states of food processing, a different ingredients like a flavoring agent or chemical additives are added based on chemistry

Finally, food products are passed on to food safety and standard or authority like the FDA in the US this Authority analyzed the content of food by chemical taste and approved our food for consumer consumption.

detergent and sops

we use detergent and soap for cleaning batting washing etc, they are a mixture of chemicals with cleaning properties they are manufactured in chemical interest you through the saponification of fatty acid

common chemicals are used in soap interest with higher sodium hydroxide, potassium hydroxide, lauric acid, palmitic acid, oleic acid, etc.

Medicine

Drugs are made of chemicals that are produced in pharmaceutical industries. The knowledge of chemistry is vital for pharmacists and doctors. Have you ever glanced at the label of a medicine?

If yes, then you have observed various chemical ingredients listed on the label. It is based on these ingredients medical practitioners decide on a suitable pill for patients. The chemical nature of drugs also helps doctors to determine how drugs are going to interact with a patient's body.

For example, antibiotics like ciprofloxacin and levofloxacin are dependent on renal functions. So, the doctor who prescribed such pills needs to be prudent for kidney patients. Chemicals are also used in sterilization, and disinfection to kill microbes. Chemistry also helps pharmacists to understand biochemical mechanisms in the body.

Textiles

Raw materials used in textile industries are wool, silk, jute, cotton, flax, glass fiber, polyester, acrylic, nylon, etc. These materials are transformed into usable finished products like clothes, bags, carpets, furniture, towels, flags, nets, balloons, etc.

During this transformation, raw materials are subjected to numerous chemical processes. Pre-treatment chemicals like cleaning and smoothing reagents are added to clean to fabric and smoothen it.

Dyeing involves the application of fabric to dyes and pigments. Other chemical processes are bleaching, permanent press, de-sizing, scouring, printing, and finishing. Chemists work to improve the quality of a product or involve in the development of new material.

Building & construction

Chemistry governs the performance of buildings. Building materials play a significant role in improving the performance of buildings. Coating chemicals like acrylics, silicones, and urethanes are responsible for reflective roofs, which decreases heat transfer.

Polymers like polyurethane reduce the weight of buildings, which reduces the civil cost. Insulators like polyurethane foams, and polystyrene foams decrease heat leaks or in other words, improve the energy efficiency of the building.

Polyethylene is a lightweight, flexible polymer that is used to create building piping. Polyethylene piping is easily curved and deformed to desired shapes. Vinyl tiles give shining, resilient flooring. Fillers like polystyrene beads lighten concrete without affecting its strength of concrete.

Paper and pulp industries

Over the last few decades, paper and pulp industries are responsible for negative impacts on the environment. Paper and pulp industries are facing grave challenges to meet environmental norms.

Pollutants released from these industries are sulfur oxides, nitrogen oxides, carbon oxides, heavy metals (lead, cadmium, mercury), dioxins, furans, chlorates, chelating agents, etc. To overcome this, industries are more focused on green chemistry to mitigate some of the environmental challenges.

Green chemistry enables researchers to design safer chemicals and products, to use renewable raw materials, convert energy, develop better catalysts, etc.

Fuel

Petrol, diesel, LPG, CNG, kerosene, oils, hydrogen, etc are all fuels produced from complex refining processes. Today's transportation (land, water, and air) is possible because of these fuels. These fuels are extracted from cruel oil found beneath the earth or oceans. Here petrochemistry plays an important role; it is a branch of chemistry that deals with the study of petrochemical processes.

Battery

Batteries are used in cars, cell phones, laptops, watches, flashlights, and many other power storage applications. Batteries work based on the principle of electrochemistry. The energy inside a battery is stored in the form of chemical energy, which converts into electric energy by electrochemical reaction.

Environmental protection

Chemistry is the central subject in the study of environmental conservation. All those pollutants and greenhouse gases are nothing but hazardous chemicals. These pollutants destroy our precious environs-next, degrade the ozone layer, enter our food chain, cause tumors, and so forth.

All these interactions of pollutants with the environment are chemical reactions. Hence, chemistry is vital to alleviate the environment and ourselves from these poisons.

Forensic

Forensic chemistry has made the jobs of police officers a lot easier. Forensics helps to identify criminals by detecting chemical evidence left behind crime scenes. Chemical techniques used by forensic investigators are spectroscopy, chromatography, X-ray diffractometry, color tests, melting point analysis, etc.

Nation's economy

Chemistry also contributes to the growth of a country. Chemical production increases the GDP of a nation. Chemical industries also generate employment.

Ourselves

We are biological organisms made up of various biochemicals like carbohydrates, proteins, vitamins, lipids, etc. Our biological processes like digestion, respiration, cellular metabolism, reproduction, and many others are accomplished by biochemical reactions. In a nutshell, we will not exist without chemistry.

Some key points:

Palmitic acid: or hexadecanoic acid in IUPAC nomenclature, is the most common saturated fatty acid found in animals, plants, and microorganisms. Its chemical formula is CH3(CH2)14COOH, and its C:D is 16:0. As its name indicates, it is a major component of the oil from the fruit of oil palms (palm oil).

• Oleic acid: this is a fatty acid that occurs naturally in various animal and vegetable fats and oils. It is an odorless, colorless oil, although commercial samples may be yellowish. In chemical terms, oleic acid is classified as a monounsaturated omega-9 fatty acid, abbreviated with a lipid number of 18:1 cis-9.

• Lauric acid: or systematically, dodecanoic acid, is a saturated fatty acid with a 12-carbon atom chain, thus having many properties of medium-chain fatty acids, is a bright white, powdery solid with a faint odor of bay oil or soap. The salts and esters of lauric acid are known as laurates.

• LPG: Liquefied petroleum gas

•CNG: Compressed natural

Conclusion:

we can see now that we're all chemists from cooking food to cleaning ourselves we make choices every day based on the way chemicals work chemistry is also important for the creation of medicines and environmental issues by doing research in chemistry we can find new cures for diseases as well as better chemicals to use in our natural environment chemistry can help change the world.
